The Tuscaloosa Character Council is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that seeks to promote character development in schools, businesses, government, and with at-risk individuals around Tuscaloosa County. In January 2000, the City of Tuscaloosa passed a resolution establishing Tuscaloosa as a “City of Character”—the first city in the state of Alabama to receive such a designation. Out of this resolution grew the creation of our organization. We are governed by a dedicated and diverse group of men and women that serve on our Board of Directors. Our day to day leadership is provided by our Executive Director, Bob Johnson.

We are currently updating our website to better serve our community. If you would like more information, please contact Bob Johnson at (404) 483-1038 or bjohnson@tuscaloosacharacter.org.
